As an alum I find myself excitingly waiting for to the next game to start only to be nauseated with disappointment before the game ends. Yesterday was no different. A few thoughts---

--we seem to under utilize Herbert. WF focused on his running but the one screen pass gained big and I don't recall calling it again. We need to find a way to get the ball in his hands.

--offensively we seemed not to have a Plan B based upon how WF choose to defend our running game

--our passing game is horrific at times and often unreliable, Hooker not capable of making plays when needed, and few short routes

--on 2 occasions in or near the read zone we call sweeps which lost us 10 plus yards and costs us scoring opportunities

-Hooker showed in the previous game he was a capable runner but yesterday he seemed too slow in making a decision or throw the ball away

--our lack of discipline was disappointing. Our personal fouls gave them points

--Our overall defense is a weakness. We can't stop our opponents when it counts. Yesterday allowed an 8 minute drive. Also failed to stop WF on 4 or 5 4th down scenarios.

--Bottom line this team is far from the team we had expected. The defense needs a redo with some new portal blood and the offense continues to need everything including better coaching, better QB play, better blocking and game planning. I'm afraid this will be an underachieving and disappointing season
