There are plenty of reports that indicate 10 times as many people that have tested positive have actually had the virus - those that were asymptomatic and those with mild enough symptoms they didn't bother to get tested.

While the number of deaths may be somewhat underreported, it's nowhere near the number of people who had the virus but weren't tested.
