I've played. I get it. Said it was a hard call that I'm glad I'm...

..not making.

The fact that the players want to play so bad is the main reason why they should have no say in the decision. They are not objective regarding a very tough decision that needs all the objectivity it can get.

I'm just not sure that what we will get out of this justifies the risk. Most of the players will be fine, either way. But, I'm pretty sure some will not. I hate the idea that a few will regret the decision to play in these games for the rest of their lives.

Is that ok? Life contains risk with or without COVID. I get that. But we usually don't create situations on purpose with such certain dire consequences for a few for the benefit of others.
At least not that I can think of anyway. The pros are playing but they had representation and could agree to terms and compensation to justify their risk. That's not the case for college football. Safety will not be equal across all these programs.

The whole thing just stinks really, play or not. I guess I just lean the people direction more than the money direction.

Odds are, even if they try to play, COVID will shut it down quickly anyway. I guess we just see how it goes.
