The SEC would prefer to be last....
to opt out for the optics of the decision. However, if every other conference has made that decision the pressure and stakes for the SEC are enormous. Going lone wolf with no legitimate championship aspirations and the risk of losing even one player or permanently impacting a pro career lays bare the money grab that collegiate athletics is in reality. Things are going to be dicey on a lot of fronts for pro, college and high school athletics until the spring of 2021 at the earliest, in my opinion.
