I guess it depends on how it’s interpreted by the tax preparer.


I would say that if we don’t play football in 20/21 (fall or spring), I would take a shot at deducting the entire donation. Some folks take the position that none of donations are deductible since they add to priority points. But VT does not take that position, nor does Penn State or some other schools. Basically, VT says only the minimum seat donation component is not tax deductible.

So, maybe I’m confusing things a bit, but that’s my take.
