But just because your logic sounds reasonable doesn't mean there aren't other reasonable decision-making processes. You seem to be suggesting that not all recommendations should be followed. But that the ones you follow, everyone should follow. Seems a bit hubristic.

It also sounds like recommendations aren't always enough -- since you admit there are times you don't follow recommendations.
