If there is school, there will be football
that is, if schools have kids living in dormitories, then there is little additional risk in students playing football. Everything that I've read indicates that a large number of people confined to a small indoor space, with poor ventilation, is the best place to transmit Covid. Outdoor transmission is highly unlikely. Put a plastic shield over the facemasks and the risk of transmission becomes minute.
If the dorms are open but there is no football, it will be done solely for optics, not to significantly reduce risk.
As for potential oldsters in the stands, tell those under 50 to stay home, and those in the stands to wear masks. [Post edited by lawhokie at 06/22/2020 12:17PM]
