coaches in the past 40 years and 4 bball coaches in the past 20. For basketball, that's no different than a lot of schools this century. The only ones that have kept coaches for longer are the big name programs (Duke/UNC/Kansas/Kentucky) or the mid-majors that appreciate their coach and get him to stay.

Everyone knew from about year 1 that Buzz wasn't in it for the long haul. I'll be surprised if he's at aTm and not retired in 2025. Buzz was a building block to get VT recognized nationally; to get kids to realize you can win in the ACC in Blacksburg. That mission was accomplished big time.
