This is Shane Beamer in his own words:

"I feel better prepared to be a head coach with the roles that I've held over the years rather than if I'd just been an offensive coordinator," said Beamer, ever-polished with the media. "I've coached offense and defense in the SEC. I've been a recruiting coordinator, I've been a special teams coordinator, I've been an associate head coach. …

"By no means am I comparing myself to Urban Meyer or Dabo Swinney, but neither one of those guys were an offensive coordinator or a defensive coordinator."

Beamer learned organization from O'Leary, a passion for recruiting from Fulmer and the importance of disposition from Spurrier.

"You're around some coaches that are completely uptight on game days and stressed out," Beamer said. "Players feed off that. Coach Spurrier was the complete opposite. He's a fierce competitor, but on game day he was very loose, very relaxed, very confident, and his teams played that way.”
