The learning curve for big guys is much steeper than other positions

Someone like Malcolm Delaney isnt going to improve all that much from Freshman year to finish. He might improve from an efficiency standpoint, but in terms of adding to their game, theyre pretty close to a finished product

Post players for whatever reason develop later. Post players who have been playing basketball for 3 years develop even later, and have an even sharper curve in development.

So for post players youre really only looking at physical traits, then some baseline instincts, athleticism and touch.

Ojiako has all of that. He is a freak from a physical standpoint that VT hasnt had at Center in the last 20 years. He just needs to play to continue to understand the game so it slows down for him.

He has done literally everything you want in a post player in a very early career and is already efficient

Here are Ojiako's Per40 stats from his FRESHMAN season

10.5 pts per game
10.5 reb per game
2.8 blk per game

For a kid who has played basketball for 3 years...at the ACC level

He. Is. Going. To. Be. A. Pro.
