You make good valid points.

I have to agree with everything you said as well. From what I've seen alot of internet Tech fans from the get go was ho hum on Fuente. I was actually really excited about him watching his Memphis teams. However I have since cooled on him. Whatever worked at Memphis is not at VT. We are actually regressing in years 3 and 4 when we should have been progressing.

As far as recruiting goes we will not consistently beat out blue bloods for 4* and 5* recruits. I also agree there are certain types of kids VT should recruit and target and I think they have been. Blue collar type kids with chips on their shoulders. Kids that don't mind putting in the work and not relying on their star status. However we are not beating out the likes of Appalachian State, or even UNC for the kids we have offered. I know the Jordan brand, better facilities, and so on and so forth. When is the last time UNC won the ACC in football? They are typically horrible. We was one game away from a ACC title berth last year and have some hope to sale and can't even sale that.

I'll also say that Fuente has shown a tendency to lose a game or two every year he has been here that's a head scratcher. Games we clearly had the most talent and should have won. The way he is recruiting we are gonna be playing more and more teams with equal and or better talent. That does not equate to success from the history Fuente has shown thus far.

Like i said and I really do whole heartedly mean this. I want VT to be successful. It would be best from several stand points but mostly financial if Fuente can make VT a consistent Coastal threat and occasional ACC Title threat. I don't see it but will glady eat crow if he does and would love that crow!
