I don’t really see a difference in having sports and having the dorms/students on campus open...It would seem just as likely to get ill in a dorm as on a field...Spectators attend at their own risk..kinda like riding a horse

I do expect VT to have alt. class options for the higher risk students/professors...I think that the school plans to have more guidance the second week of June...

Regardless, still important to take reasonable steps to protect others (and self)...
