But a valid case could also be made for cutting our losses (especially if 2020 isn't played or if it is and not as good as expected).
It's not like Fuente is going into his second year. This will be his fifth season. Most college coaches get about 4-5 years to show what they can do. Depending on circumstances, a coach might get 6 or 7. But if interest wanes and recruiting starts suffering, you have to cut bait while you still can recover the program. Another bad recruiting class in 2021 will be tough to overcome. But a third straight bad class in 2022 might make it impossible to overcome.... And if you think Fuente struggles to recruit now, how will he do on a hot seat (whether real or perceived)?
