How much “mass” would there be for casualties?

The student population would be largely unaffected by another outbreak. Of the other 15k or so Blacksburg residents, only some fraction of them are in the vulnerable populations. I know nothing about the hospital capacity in this area but I’m guessing it could support a scenario like the one you describe. The biggest risk would he to the residents of Warm Hearth. If it happened, that place should be 100% locked down with only authorized service providers in or out.

One interesting wrinkle if that were to happen though: VT uses Anthem for insurance. Lewis Gale facilities are covered by Anthem but they’re nurses and physicians are not. That means if you wirk at Tech with benefits and you go to Lewis-Gale, you will get stuck with a HUGE bill. Me and my family of four had to get rabies shots there this summer. Four visits at $15k each. Im not exaggerating. It took five months of wrangling to get our bill to a more fair and reasonable price.
