Fuente has had success already

Right out of the gate he was successful. Going into the first year I heard "the cupboard is bare" from Hokie fans complaining about the recruiting in Beamer's last years. But after Fuente's successes waned I heard "he only did it because of Beamer's recruiting classes". I'd bet both are partly true. I certainly think some pieces (mostly athletes) have been missing recently. I think the days of the "shutdown defenses" we enjoyed with BF/FB are a thing of the past with today's offenses. I can't say enough about Foster's defenses, but it's time to recruit better on the D-line and to establish a defense that is more conventional in size and scheme. Personally I think Fuente will succeed, but he needs more time. Competing for ACC titles is very realistic I think.
