Thrilling wins & heartbreaking losses

I've had it in my head for a long time that VT football has way more heartbreaking losses than thrilling wins over the last many years. The soulcrushers like 2007 BC, 2010 Boise State, 2011 Michigan and almost every loss from 2019 are what stand out to me when I think of VT games that went down to the wire. In my head, VT is infinitely more likely to give up a last second score to lose a game than to be one crushing the other team's fans' souls. If VT needs to score at the end of the game, I generally have zero confidence that they'll do so based on how I remember these situations playing out in the past.

However, in looking through past schedules starting in 2007 and identifying games in which either team scored with under two minutes left to win the game, or won in a thrilling overtime game, it wasn't as lopsided as I thought.

The results are below. Note I left out a few dud OT games like 2012 Rutgers, 2013 Maryland and 2014 Wake that were ugly but not exactly what I consider either thrilling or heartbreaking, at least not in the traditional sense.

Thrilling wins (13):
2009 Nebraska
2010 NCST
2011 Miami
2012 GT
2012 BC
2012 UVA
2013 Marshall
2014 UVA
2015 UVA
2018 UNC
2018 UVA
2019 Miami
2019 UNC

Heartbreaking losses (15):
2007 BC
2008 ECU
2009 UNC
2010 Boise
2011 Mich
2012 Cinci
2012 FSU
2014 ECU
2014 GT
2015 Duke
2015 UNC
2018 Cinci
2019 ND
2019 UVA
2019 Kentucky

Is anyone else as surprised as me that it's pretty close to even? Clearly the painful losses have stuck out in my memory a lot more than the thrilling wins have, to have left me thinking that VT hardly ever wins these types of games.
