The PR part actually would seem to be one of the easier fixes..We still act like we wouldn't recognize good Public Relations in we tripped over it in the parking lot!

I lay most of that at Whit's feet. He IS the boss..He could very well have told Fuente that he WOULD tape a 2 minute "pep talk" about his Baylor dalliance, speaking directly to the fan-base. It isn't in Fuente's nature to be outgoing.

In THIS instance, the boss could and SHOULD have said, you WILL do this because i say so! ..IMO
