Still too early to say whether the 2020 season is lost

We're still only in late March, long ways to go till practice in August and games in September. That said, the outlook is not rosy for the U.S. It's clear this will continue to cause major disruptions in the short term.

Can it be brought under control by the fall, to the point where ADs and university administrators would be comfortable signing off on hosting a massive crowd (some in excess of 100K people) in a tightly packed space? That is yet unclear, and will depend on factors including how localities and states are able to manage this outbreak.

Who knows, maybe the NCAA would play a shortened season. Maybe a half-season? Or a conference-games-only season. That'd be better than nothing, but it's a cloudy outlook as of now.
