I am all for being rewarded for success. I'm not saying everything has to be exactly equal school to school. There just needs to be some kind of formula that takes away buying championships and the wretched excess that serves no one. All while schools keep raising tuition to absurd levels.
For example, if schools could no longer take football donations, then the top schools could still benefit from higher merchandise deals and ticket sales etc. Bama would still have much more revenue than Ball state. It just wouldn't be so hopelessly unbalanced. And more importantly not so wasteful with the waterfalls in the locker room. Just off the cuff brainstorming . Obv have not thought thru it but there would be a way to get a handle on this. Again this is NOT intended to be free enterprise and capitalism...which I 100% support in the business world
