I 100% understand that
the clock matters.
I 100% believe that the score matters more.
100% of the games that end with you having fewer points, you lose.
When you are losing, if you make "controlling the clock" your priority, that's a dumb decision. 100% of the time. Controlling the score is the priority. If you leave your opponent no time to score when they're still ahead, you won the clock control game but lost the actual game. Congrats, I guess. Apparently that's some sort of "controlling your destiny" win for @133743Hokie.
If you make scoring with x seconds left a priority, you're decreasing the probability that you'll actually score. I don't care if "the offense has been running well," making something other than scoring the priority decreases the probability of actually scoring.
The whole "control of destiny" notion is 100% illusion.
