Sampson would have won a NC at VT if he had chosen VT over UVA.

In the 1979-80 season VT lost to Ralph (UVA) 65-58 at UVA. VT had Dale Solomon Soph/6'-8" PF & Wayne Robinsom Sr./6-9 PF to go with Les Henson Sr./6'-6" F/G & Jeff Schneider Soph/6'-4" G. Their Record: was 21-8 (8-4, 2nd in Metro). All they needed was a Center. UVA had a weak supporting cast, but Ralp lifted them up immensely! What could have been!
