I think even the NIT is a stretch at this point
And let's face it, it always was with this bunch. This is a VERY young team with only a handful of legitimate ACC talent. Next year, we lose Nolley but gain two more high level recruits. On top of that, the other freshmen are a year older and a year wiser.
Quite frankly, I would have been mildly surprised if you told me going into the season that VT would win more than 5 ACC games. We're already at 5. If you told me that we'd be flirting with NCAA hopes in late January, I would have called you completely nuts.
But these guys do fight, scratch, and claw. With the infusion of more talent and experience will come more wins. This year, I think a reasonable goal at this point is to not play the opening round of the ACCT. I figure we need to win 3 more to have a good shot at that... probably 4 more.
