use coach speak and blame themselves for everything, not wanting to openly criticize a player, but IMO this was a bit over the top.

No, it was not on Mike Young unless he drew up a play they weren't capable of executing. Just say we drew up a play. It didn't work the way we thought and the guys did the best they could with it. It didn't work out this time, but we hope it will next go round. Just too much non-sensical coachspeak on that one.
