12-12 in last 24 games; 2 years with primarily his guys

What we've seen so far is that he's got a better offensive mind than Beamer and thus with Beamer's leftovers and system he got them to perform MUCH better than Beamer did. Thats great!

Whats not great is the direction the program has taken since, especially with the Beamer stars leaving and Fuente putting his own system in. And what we've seen is that his system drastically disagreed with a lot of the underclass Beamer recruits, and they left en masse, so for the past 2 years he's pretty much been working with just his guys (the youth excuse, too).

So, with his guys, his system, his offense plan: disaster in 2018 and 4 games of disaster in 2019. 12 games of WTF poor execution (and I put this on the coaches, not the players). Yes, the D was legendarily bad (and young) in 2018, BUT his offense couldnt generate a 1st down in the 3rd quarter to save the D's life, mainly because the backup QB (Willis) couldn't execute their plan and the coaches have yet to show they can make halftime game-day offensive changes to exploit or counter what the opposing D is throwing at us. This is bad coaching, both prior to gameday and in gameday. And then, after 2018, sticking with Willis (despite everyone concluding that Willis, while meaning well, was increasingly obviously unable to read a D and constantly made bad decisions on the field) through 4 and a half games is mind boggling. At the time, I still believed in them, so I figured "holy crap, Hooker and QP must really stink" and the Hooker goes in and *snap* like magic the offense starts working. How is that not infuriating? How is that not a gigantic indictment of Fu and Cornelson, that they couldn't figure this out on their own but had to get humiliated by Duke (and a terrible series in Miami)?

So, no, I'm not cherry picking anything, I'm looking at the overall picture and its NOT GOOD. And this last bit of clusterfudgery just set the clock back to zero as far as the new narrative for 2020 was concerned. And I still dont see the correct emphasis (Offensive house cleaning) from Fu, instead theres a lot of D house cleaning but... no mea culpa's from Corny or the O coaches, no "oops, yeah its bad that 3 month drop in analyst was able to fix our RB in 2 weeks that we couldnt in 2 years", etc. instead, infuriating red herrings about Facilities and Fundraising, AS IF any of those things made it impossible to make the right QB call in preseason or other baffling gameday or personnel decisions. I want to see some hat holding and yes some arse-kissing from a group that lost half their games in a weak division of a weak conference while getting paid $8M+ to do it, not finger pointing at facilities or anything else.
