And at the time of the BC embarassment, we were 4-8 in our past 12 games as well. IN fact we've pretty much been at 0.500 ball since BC on a running 24. The turnaround with Hooker got us back to 8-4 over the past 12 but we're still 12-12.

Its not asking a lot for wanting us to be better than a 6-6 team year in, year out. That was the promise of of the Coach Fu, that we'd be back to our 10 win ways. And we were for a year, then...

With his own players he's flailing and the worst thing is that for the supposed "QB Whisperer", (a) none of our QBs have gotten better year over year, and (b) he and Corny didnt realize that Hooker was better than Willis either in the preseason or even 4 games into the year. Thats borderline malpractice if not incompetence; it doesnt/shouldnt take a Jerry Kill to realize that Willis couldn't read defenses and couldnt go through progressions and as a consequence couldnt run the RPO properly. That they (a) kept him in there anyway and (b) didnt alter the offense one bit to accomodate his limitations is another indictment.

Frankly the turnaround last year can be laid at the feet of Bud, after he yelled some life into them before Miami and got the D righted. And even then, Fu tried to play Willis, but then Willis immediately screwed the pooch and *finally* Hooker got in and amazingly the offense started working. If you're one player away from your offense working and you can't figure that out for 4.5+ games then theres really no amount of Football Operations Center or Moolah thats going to solve that fundamental lack of sense.

Fu is going to be working without a net this upcoming year so its pretty much all on him, and I am not confident *at all* that he or his offensive staff will do it, even though on paper they should win 10-11 games next year. I suspect we're back to losing at least 4, and we dont need to pay $4M+ for 0.500 ball and disappointing recruiting, we can get that on the cheap.
