Depends. I'm currently in what most people would say is a highly


compensated work situation, and one that I really like, working with people on my staff that I really like also.

So, a 50% pay raise would not immediately move any kind of needle for me, because diminishing returns have already kicked in.

In the case of CJF, when you make $4M per year, making $6M per year does not change his lifestyle in any material way. He is already set for life if he saves and invests his money properly, and his kids and grandkids will be also, should he choose to let them inherit it. So his decision should be about: situation, coaches around him, AD relationship, well-being of his family, kids' schools, climate, recruiting territory, whatever. If Michigan or OU or FSU or Southern Cal were on the line, then I get the consideration all day long. We are talking about Baylor here.

I hear you if you make $40K, $60K seems like all the money in the world.
