Absolutely, CMY can. To borrow a popular phrase here, I think CMY has a

higher ceiling at VT than Buzz ever could have.

Much of it is based on having the patience to sticking around and not looking for the best opportunity to "reset the clock" as Buzz is/was keen on.

It also is based on his overall coaching style and personality too to win over a higher percentage of the fan base.

While many liked Buzz and what he was able to do at VT, there were always a percentage of those who pointed out that "Buzz is about Buzz" more so than VT (not saying those observations were wrong either, especially in hindsight).

With CMY, he comes across as genuine, and I think can relate to a larger portion of the fan base than probably Buzz was ever going to be able to do.

Having a higher percentage of the fan base behind a coach can be a key ingredient to having a coach's mutual "we're all in this together" atmosphere get through the "rough times".

I'd much have CMY over Buzz. I think both are great coaches, both can recruit (CMY has proven that since he arrived), but for the long term success and potential of what VT basketball can be, I think CMY just fits better.

I know I am enjoying this season MUCH more than last year's, and that is saying *something* given the successes that team had. I think we as fans are enjoying this journey more, no matter where the Year 1 destination is going to lead to. (the key word still is PATIENCE, though successes can sometimes make us forget that)

No matter what that is, having CMY at the wheel I think makes many of us feel good about the future of VT hoops.
