I was also pretty worried after that Duke game. I also think many would look at this season a lot differently if we just pull that Notre Dame game out. Even if we had still lost to UVA and Kentucky, we would have been 9-4 with a pretty impressive turn around in the season and nice win over ND. Even without that we still had a solid year. I picked 8-4 and it ended up right.

As far as my expectations, I do think VT is a program that can remain a solid top 25 team over the long term. I’m cautiously optimistic we’ll get back to that next year and I hope Fuente and co can get there and sustain it. Fuente could probably stay here forever if we’re on average a 9-3 type team.
