We led a 2-10 FCS team by a TD in the 4th quarter. Our win against Wake looked much less impressive by season's end. No one's head should be too high for the Pitt game after watching them squeak by a 6-7 MAC team in the final minute of their bowl game. Our schedule for the entire season was not exactly murderer's row.

I'm cherry-picking, of course. There were a lot of good things from this season, as you mention. There are a lot of reasons to feel good about next year and subsequent seasons. But there are valid reasons to think that 8-4 is possibly the ceiling under Fuente, too.
