Hooker, Burmeister, and Patterson.....What does 2020 have in store at QB...

This is a fun one.

Hooker basically saved our season because it was going to go into the dumps with Willis at QB. I’m still not sure what happened with Willis, but man, whatever happened was bad. I think Hooker is good, but unless he continues to develop, I see a definitive ceiling that isn’t too high on the guy.

Patterson is a freak. I actually liked what he did against ND, on the road, in his first start. I don’t think he is a great passer and it doesn’t seem like he will even surpass Hooker in that category (we will see); however, that dude is a stud that is being wasted away on the sidelines. I suspect that we are about as good of a team next year with Patterson under center as we are Hooker, assuming Patterson starts to put it together in the passing game.

Then there is Burmeister. The wild card. Was he given a raw deal at Oregon with Taggart? Then was he not able to beat out Herbert (not surprising)? Is he a better Patterson? A better Hooker? Or a combo of both, which equals out to a talent equally among the three QB’s?

I guess we will see something in the spring, but, what will Fuente do with the QBs? How will he assess the three and determine what is best for the team heading into 2020? The decision to go with Willis this season is still a bit of a head scratcher, which worries me a bit heading into the 2020 season.

Will Patterson be open to switching positions or will he just decide to transfer if he doesn’t see the field as QB?
