He was never the best DC in my opinion and was above average for a number of years, but really lacking in recent years. IIRC last year he had one of the worst defenses in America vis a vis giving up long pass plays and long runs. How many times was he named the best DC in America or even how many Broyles Awards as best assistant coach in America did he win? That would be an indicator of best ever, IMHO. Wish him well in retirement, but actually glad to have a new guy to lead our defense.
