I can buy your version of the story. But Bud's "late retirement" certainly


put JF into jeopardy. A bad year last year would have meant that the new DC would have been viewed as stepping into a temporary job (until proven otherwise). This would have impacted recruiting (until they could tell a compelling story). Etc. Etc. A swirl in the pool is never a good thing to have to reverse.

Having had health problems impacting work, they always screw somebody. People who are risk averse/not willing to take that on will always shy away from people who have a history of illness. There is a real reason for that.

It seems they tried to minimize the risks and it seems like JHAM, DTapp, and collective are gonna make the most of this opportunity. But this would have been a harder sell had we lost more games. Very happy it seems to be working out.
