Alexandria schools had de-segregated in mid 60s but main reason for combining the three Hugh schools was declining high school age population that would not fill three high schools in Alexandria. I know this as I played against the Titans in that famous year. No one was cut and they bought about 100 kids to our game at Hayfield. We actually scored against them and was leading at half but eventually ran out of gas going against a fresh eleven for everything. We had about 5-6 guys going both ways.
