UVa, with then new head coach Al Groh, had a higher rated class than VT

in his first recruiting campaign years ago. CFB said he would be willing to line up ours vs their recruiting class. Guess what, we beat UVA 4 of next 5 years. Its what you do with the recruits you have that counts, stars mean little. Having said that VT clearly must improve its in-state recruiting to be more successful.
By the way, UVA had 2 in-state recruits to our one, not a significant difference.
