Losing Bud's $1mill will free up some money. Facilities are not the issue

(although we can always improve). It's that we haven't had a staff, particularly on the D side of the ball, to recruit the players we need. Where are the Cornell Browns, the D. Hall, an others we have had over the years. Yes we got D. Hunter but sorry to say he hasn't developed yet. Listen with today's rules favoring the offense and skill players more on the offensive side of the ball you are not going to have a steady diet of games where even a good D gives up just 10, 14 or even 20 points a game. Today's game is different teams will score (even with a good defensive effort) 24 to 30 points; but, we still need much better talent on the defense.
Offensively I think we have the talent but I have had, notwithstanding wins over the last 6 weeks, grave concerns about our coaching staff using the offensive talent. How many times has our offense scored more than 35 points in a game, particularly bit games which is what you have to do to win consistently. Even in blow outs this year we often score 24, 28, maybe 30 or so points. That simply isn't good enough in today's game to be very successful. I fear that, with 8 wins, Fu will be content with his offensive staff and not make any significant changes.
