If there is one thing that this last week (few months) has taught me...

Sports is a funny thing. After GT & Pitt, we were all feeling sky high and really confident (probably way overconfident and underestimating what was obviously a very good UVa team). There has been a lot of speculation about the difference between those performances and yesterday's performance, but the fact remains that I'd say many, if not most VT fans (including myself), were a little shocked about yesterday's result. As you pointed out there is a lot of time between now and next year. Until we see who is introduced as the new defensive coordinator (and possibly other assistant coaches), who potentially leaves the program, and our injury situation, I'm reserving predictions about how well we are going to do.

Then again, as a Nats fan, I'll never forget a comment said behind me in the stands during the Wild Card game when they were down. "Same old, Nats!!!". Well that turned out to be completely untrue and still can't believe they pulled it off against Houston.

Biggest thing as a fan (which is very hard to do) is to enjoy the ride and not get too bullish or bearish on one's team. I am still trying to learn that lesson.
