No shade being directed towards Buzz...
...but when the game is in control, and subs are getting their chance to play, why kill the clock? These are still kids and some will see very limited playing time against conference foes. Anyone whose played the game at any level knows the satisfaction of putting the ball through the net. Give these kids who put in countless hours in practice time their chance to compete. The shot by Wilkins excited the crowd and IMO boosted the spirit of the players. I witnessed many times during the Buzz years a player simply holding the ball as the final seconds ticked away. What harm is it letting the player that sits at the end of the bench having his opportunity to score? What guarantee is it that he'll have another opportunity?
