His offensive system, his reputation as an OC, his attitude was well known in the 757 with Va High School Coaches by the year 2006. He was considered an absolute joke offensively and contrary to the giant spin machine that loved to say "Stiney can recruit," he turned away droves more than he landed because so many simply wouldn't even give us a look because of him and our offensive system. The High School Coaches by in large in the 757, would not send their offensive side of the ball kids by 2007. Tyrod was the last one. Exceptions here? Sure, but by in large, the truth. He also had a hollier than high attitude that turned off many high school Coaches. I know, I was one. Beamer, Wiles, Hite, and Bud....all of them insanely down to earth and approachable. Stiney would talk to High School Coaches like children or little league coaches and so many absolutely resented him. Folks, there is a reason he's still at JMU as a positions coach after all these years.
