I guess you aren't counting incomplete passes as stoppages.


I never thought rugby took longer, and you sure don't have to wait for wide-outs to return to a huddle, or even have a huddle for that matter.

Also, the clock runs during line outs and scrums.

Average action time in rugby is up to 45%, or 36 minutes. If a football game had 150 plays at 6 seconds each (a wild ass guess, BTW) that's only 15 minutes.
