10 wins in conference? 6-7 tops IMO. Depth and experience is way down.
Other than the obvious significance of talent, having depth and experience in the ACC (or most major conferences) is a must. If you're light on that, even with talent, the season can be a real grind.
Syracuse is a good example. They usually have very solid talent (not UNC or Duke level) but have lost a ton of players to the pros/overseas and that loss of experience and depth has turned them into a middle of the pack ACC team.
a team on the lower end of ACC talent and with limited depth/experience is a tough combination to go 500.
