Picking or making a bet is another event or thing.

You stated the point spread was an opinion. That's false It's a fact. Right now, it's -3.5.

Argue otherwise? Ok, you go to Vegas an tell a Bookie that you are betting on Tech and putting down 500 bucks and you are taking VT and the spread in your opinion, is -3, not -3.5 and damn it, you want your money if Tech keeps it within 3 or wins because in your opinion, it's -3 and not minus 3.5. You are going to be laughed at. Facts can change. The sky is blue-fact, but sometimes it's not. The spread can move. It can be -3.5, then -5. What is an opinion is the process of someone picking or making a decision and betting one way or the other on the -3.5.
