I’m not sure that is spinning it any differently...


as I think pretty much anybody paying attention thinks this will be a rough year in terms of wins and losses. st andrew’s post just mentions the games that seem the most winnable.

The factors you mention are obviously true, but I actually feel refreshed about this team and am eager for the season. Sure, I’ll get a little peeved when we do stupid stuff or blow opportunities to win close games but those are just micro ebbs and flows. The bigger question that I had was regarding our ability to rebuild with real talent. I’m now confident that we’ll do just that long term, if the on court product keeps improving with each passing season.

Frankly, I don’t much care what our record is this year. Dropping some bad OOC games would be minorly disappointing, but I won’t be surprised. I just want to see this team noticably better at the end of the season than at the beginning, even though wins at the end will be much harder to produce. I’m sure the staff and team won’t treat it this way, but I see this season as an absolute freebie.
