Believe me, I'm very happy we didn't lose.
But it just makes me question what the players or coaches were thinking. It might be easier to manage a game from the couch than on the sidelines, but you and I both would have at least called a timeout of our own to relay the message not to score to our guys. Crazy to think about it, but we had plenty of timeouts to A.) prevent confusion in those final 2 minutes if there was any B.) if Miami somehow got the ball back with very little time, we'd still be able to set up our defense if we needed to.
It seems almost obscene to take a timeout on our part after the big play, since it stops the clock. But if there really was a time to calm your guys down and tell them not to jump the gun, that was it. And Miami, with just one timeout remaining, would've only been able to look on as destiny was in our hands. [Post edited by jcvt11 at 10/09/2019 02:12AM]
