Our way up after that season. The whole Beamer almost got fired dialogue made for a nice feel good story in hindsight and looks believable on paper but it wasn’t close to reality as I recall.
Our current situation is not getting better fast. That doesn’t mean I think we should fire Fuente because we’re gonna be down for another 6+ years no matter who our next coach happens to be. VT as a program has lost the chip on their shoulder (I predicted it when we joined the ACC) & our fans are as soft as our team. We created this dilemma when we gave up on Beamer instead of rallying around him. IIWII
