(1) The coaching staff knew there was going to be valley for a year or two as the final vestiges of the Beamer era disappeared. They knew youth and inexperience would briefly define our team and there has always been a plan in place to climb back up from the depths of the valley to national significance.
(2) The coaching staff knew we would be young briefly, but were not prepared for the magnitude of the decline. Now, in the absence of a master plan, they are grasping at straws (like Jerry Kill) in hopes of finding something that works.
