the VT fanbase isn't special. We definitely used to be, especially mid-90's to late 00's. Home environment was loud, fans were fired up well before kickoff, etc. But at this point, we're not. Students are no longer engaged and don't really have reason to be. Head coach shuts down access to the program and doesn't have winning to fall back on to make up for it. Fanbase as a whole doesn't donate and still expects high-level results. I think we're seeing a regression to where VT was before Beamer, which is a regional program that doesn't have the resources to compete at a high level in football.
