I have direct experience. The facilities compare. The horseshoe is old, dirty and kind gross. But it's awesome. They're both big state schools with big budgets. Entire family is from Ohio. Cousin went to UMD to play lacrosse because it's B10 and got a chance to see OSU football games. So, imagine that recruiting angle... He went to UMD to play lacrosse because *surprise* they win, but it was partly because he wanted to see OSU football games. Recruiting is a little more nuanced than you are making it out to be. I would implore you to donate today. If already donating, donate more. And start the narrative that VTs has great facilities and is a great place to be. Perception is reality.
