years (and dollars) to get his act together. We've regressed under his leadership and are damn near irrelevant in the national picture. Most coaches would salivate at a powder puff schedule like ours. A QB whisperer can't recruit a great QB? After that horrible off-season and the attrition, I would be a little tired of the "we just didn't execute" excuse. You couple that with Bud's departure and we probably have not seen the floor.

Whit must be the most patient man in college athletics. For that I'll give him credit. I would never want VT to be a program that pressured coaches to win championships or get fired in 3 years. But good grief what does it take for us to establish some identity of competitive play? My heart hurts just watching these talented kids starving for leadership and a staff that breeds trust and growth.
