Ole Larry was a scrappy PG from Brooklyn, NY- born 1940

and still coaching in Italy! Larry was born to coach professional ball where there were no rules to be followed. Even so, he did manage to win an NCAA championship at Kansas and appear in the finals at UCLA.

He was COY in the ABA three times and once in the NBA. He was also a very good PG at UNC and in the ABA for 5 teams in 5 years...once had 23 assists in a game!

He was the first coach to win an NCAA and the NBA Title (Detroit Pistons BAD BOYS- man I loved that team!).

A perfectionist, a grump sometimes but in love with the game from birth until his death...an original.
