The worst case scenario and most frustrating outcome IMO


Is that we will conclude the 2019 season with no better sense of whether or not Fuente is going to be successful at Tech (I suppose this depends on how you define success for the program). I disagree that we're on course for five losses, but then again, I didn't figure we would lose seven games last year after the William and Mary game.

Most people on here seem to think our baseline is about 8-4 and I agree, that seems fair. However, given that we will play one of the weaker P5 schedules, that's hardly enough evidence to convince anyone that Fuente has righted the ship. By the same token, it's improbable we're going to go 10-3 and the skeptics will come around.

All of this is to say, it's very likely we're going to continue litigating the same pro/anti-Fuente arguments on this board next year. He's not going to do poorly enough to get fired and he's not going to do well enough to received a vote of confidence from the fanbase.
